Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. --- Mark Twain

Cape Town, Waterfront

Waterfront
 DSC07968
.Nobel Square - opened in 2005. And four Nobel Peace Prize winners, from left: Albeon Luthuli (1960), Desmond Tutu (1984), FW de Klerk (1993) and Nelson Mandela (1993).

But this red statue on the background a few hundred meters away is made of Coca-Cola boxes.

All together it was said to be consisted of 42,000 boxes. The height of the statue is 18 meters.

A wall – sized puzzle. Although slightly out of date, because Sudan is still there as one state.

The largest aquarium, those who wanted could swim there together with sharks.

Another one.

I look up at this signboard and the idea crosses my mind that now definitely “Aliens Exhibit” is round the corner.

In the parking lot

Guitars made of empty oil canisters. The seller did not want to be in the picture.

Some facts about the Table Mountain cable car.

The cab can accommodate 65 people, within an hour 800 people will be taken up. The load capacity is 566 20 and speed is 10 meters per second.

DSC07796
Metal cables were said to be 18 tons

DSC07797
The cabin is round for two reasons. The swivelling floor provides a view of 360 degree and secondly – aerodynamics – a rounded cab will sway less in the wind.

Rhodes Memorial

Upstairs there are 49 steps - one for each year of life.

A view to Cape Town from between the pillars of the Rhodes Memorial.

Mossel Bay. I thought for a moment to end this post with this evening picture. But there are other items to deal with besides taking pictures as well. So some more images.

This local muffler repair service was quite efficient and good in any ways. And this work needed to be done as a new muffler will not grow by itself as it is the way with the tails of lizards.

And the roof rack required aluminium welding as well.

DSC08252
In total, it took about an hour, the first 45 minutes to fit the car into the workshop and the job itself was probably over in 10 minutes. And finally my finding- freshly welded aluminum looks exactly the same as cold aluminum.

Now could start moving again.
