Very rainy Valparaiso
From May 27 to 28,
2013 Valparaiso, Chile.
The weather forecast had not lied this time, it had promised rain for Monday, and so it was raining almost all the day long. But because of the rain, after all, one cannot leave without visiting Valparaiso. Another option would be to wait for the arrival of beautiful weather, but one can sometimes wait for fine weather for weeks, and here in the southern hemisphere there is now the autumn-winter time winter. Comparable to the end of November in the northern hemisphere.
Driving into the city there was a traffic jam, and moving forward the speed could be perhaps about 10 km per hour, if even that. Soon it turned out that one lane was closed due to the rain as quite a bit of soil and rocks had fallen down from the hillside on the road and caused the mess.
The streets by the shore were considerably watery and more water was being poured from the sky!
Here, the water has started to come over the cobblestones. Twenty centimetres of water are otherwise no problem, but you never know what's hiding under the water - can either be a larger hole, or whatever. The main thing is to follow the other car exactly - a good foolproof solution.
Morning at COPEC gas station, and the weather was exactly the same as yesterday. Maybe even grayer.
Back to the direction of Valparaiso.
A part of the old city is, after all, UNECO World Heritage, and after all, one cannot leave without visiting it.
Further images of the city. Plaza Sotomayor.
Navy Headquarters.
Cafe-bookstore. The inside ...
and outside.
It would be a great view from the observation platform on nice weather!
There will be no technical posts at this time, but it's 100% true saying, "If something is worth doing, then it's worth re-doing ". In short we can say that the bottom of the car is still oily. And the diesel heating system does not work as it should. But about all of this - in the future
