Day 725
Ushuaia.
Like in many Latin American cities there is also Carnival in Ushuaia. This event here took place yesterday, February 11 and for that reason the coastal street was closed to the traffic in the length of one kilometre
And now – quite a lot of pictures – in the beginning the performers and the public are dry, but gradually everybody gets wetter and wetter.
The sky was growing darker and darker.
Then - little by little it began to rain.
Looking up in the sky it was quite evident that in the nearest future the rain would not stop. Actually it really poured till the next morning.
As it began to rain more heavily and since the car was about 200 meters away - I went to take my jacket just to protect the cameras Being wise after the event I should have taken my bright orange waterproof jacket instead. And then there was more rain and more and more...
More rain and fewer spectators. When in the beginning the sides of the road were really crowded and difficult to get nearer – then by now the situation had changed
At that moment everything was so soaking wet that better not to take the camera out. Some more ten minutes - and the cool event was over. I do not want to say that the rain ruined it, but as it had taken a year to prepare for the celebration the performances would have been even more enjoyable with nice weather.
The rain continued overnight, of course.
