Chupaca

21.08.2013
The Route: Chupaca – Huancayo – Huancavelica (151 km),

While having my car repaired in Chupaca, that is a small town near Huancayo, I found an overnight place in "Campamento La Perla". And the place was ok in every way - enough room, plus electricity, hot water, and of course, Wi-Fi, which worked most of the time.

Chupaca Sunday morning market. Mostly all kinds of domestic animals, sheep and donkeys were being traded.

Toyotas are everywhere, some of which are tied together with a rope, and some are newer. Here in Peru and Bolivia there were also some Nissans and Mazda moving, but compared to Toyotas – not so many. And mostly gasoline Rear lights seem not to be so important as long as there red - and-white reflective stickers. And the number is there, after all, too.

Then some signs indicated that it is time to move on as first of all- internet disappeared and then preparations for paving the main street began, and I had no desire to be trapped at the camping for four more days.Though it was a nice and comfortable place.

Some scenes from the road :

As usual, in the meantime there are sheep, and they always have the privilage of crossing the road from where they have been accustomed to do it for many years.

But the mountains are, of course powerful, respect - that more than 4 km in altitude there are roads being built.

In some places there are traces of fallen rocks...

I arrived at Huancavelica exactly at the right time, the sun began to set. City traffic was usual, you just drive, give the signal and watch not to run down something. And also try hurriedly to take pictures of the car (see the picture above) parked by the road., and even you succeed, and then you must brake as there is a speedbump of decent height on the road and of course, no wish to pass over it without slowing down..

And at the same time you try to look to either left or right in order to find an overnight place – some parking lot or a hostel. Until eventually you will find a hostel in the center of the town.
