Day 706
Balneario El Condor.
Here is one of the oldest lighthouses of Patagonia.
FaroRio Negro was built in 1887. And right here is one of the world's largest colonies of parrots.
The shore of the ocean reminds us a bit of our limestone cliffs.
But also it can be said that reminds of Swiss cheese.
An overnight place
Peninsula Valdez belongs to the category of "Must See". The entire peninsula is a protected area.
The place belongs to The UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
A short distance from the main gate is the tourist information office.
From here one can get a free map of the area and useful information, for example - the best time to visit penguins in Caleta Valdezes is about at two o'clock, and the sea lions are less than an hour's drive northwards and the best time to go and see them is at four o'clock.
In the town of Puento Piramideon on the Valdaz Peninsula there is one street, less than a thousand local people, and a really big and crowded Municipal Camping.
I am asked if I would like to use electricity, and in response to my affirmative answer the employee begins to scrape the sand off the ground, and after a while the electrical wire is found.
Bird Island.
