Moneychanger – thanks to the text on the vest he can be recognized from the distance already.
In Shopping Centre
Balneario Camboriu. A health resort, the number of inhabitants is less than 100 thousand but during the season it can grow up to 1 million.
Here the lift system not only takes you up to the mountain - but also to Laranjeira beach which is on the other side of the mountain.
The sight on halfway up. It is + 35 degrees and the sky is covered with thick grey clouds again.
At the top there is a viewing platform.
It is somehow unfamiliar to see here Santa Claus with his red coat, hat and gloves. But here he is. And actually the calendar shows that the right time will soon come and there is nothing to wonder about.
Pirate ships waiting for customers.
On board the ship. The atmosphere is like in the movie – The Pirates of the Caribbean Sea.
After a two hours at sea we arrived back at the port, on one side older -
and on the other side more stylish vessels.
In another stopover. The advantages of the larger bus are evident - even a washing machine has been taken with.
One more camper
And even a bigger one. Now we could get on to develop a long-long theme about the size of the car most suitable for travelling ...
A couple of beach pictures. Shortly after the rain.
In the tunnel. The first attempt to capture something while driving.
In the tunnel. The second attempt. No more experimenting in the dark, better follow the road and keep both hands on the steering wheel.
Gaspar.
And Blumenau, founded in 1850 by German immigrants.
The buildings are like in a small German town. Even Oktoberfest is celebrated here. I try to visit every tourist information office on the road. One can have maps of the local attractions and recommendations about camping sites.
The construction of the shore promenade.
Here a merchant uses the break and tries to sell some pairs of sandals. But there is no deal.
It will be four, it is time to find another sleeping place. I'm leaving, I'm going to the car and discover more fun by my car, there is something stuck under the wiper. Something suspicious, anyway it is not any kind of commercial that could be safely thrown away. This questionable paper resembles to a parking fine although I have never seen any Brazilian parking fine before.
Next, there are two options, either a) to throw the paper away, as if nothing has happened, b) to find out how a decent citizen could resolve the matter. I choose option b, it seems more interesting. The paper is in Portuguese, there are no numbers to indicate to the sum of the payment or whatever. In short – nothing understood. So I ask for help concerning the incomprehensible paper at a tourist office hoping that they can instruct me how to find the very right place to go. And they can. I am handed over a plan of the town and the very right place is located about 500 m away. At the office having given the paper over to the authorities I soon get back a kind of receipt and a handful of more papers. Having studied them more closely they turn out to be empty parking tickets. The whole story is going to cost me 15 Riali (ie $ 7.5) In fact it is a good solution. So the overall impression of Blumenaust is quite positive.
Just another stopover or to be more exact an overnight place at a gas station. Even with the roof overhead and a diner and WiFi reaching the bus. The experience of the last few weeks has shown that in the dark there is no point to start to look for campsites. And now towards Paranagua.
Guaratuba barge.
The cars are not side to side but across. We get on board one by one and everybody is directed where to park. Getting off is also an interesting experience - all of us leaving at the same time.
