Nandu and the Others
"Reserva de Flora y Fauna del Pan de Azucar". It is a small Zoo by the road.
Nandu. Resembles a bit to an ostrich.
At first watched a few minutes from the distance.
then came closer and closer,
curiosity won.
But the walking path taking to the top of the hill "Pan de Azucar" was slightly rocky
An hour of climbing up to 400 meters, and finally a cross of 35 meters caught the eye.
A view from the top. The cross was made in 1933, concrete, and up to the horizontal part of it there was a spiral staircase.
The inside of the horizontal part. But the view which opened to the neighbourhood of Piriapolis was worth the climb and a half of the day was filled with this activity.
The further plan of the day was to drive to a familiar campsite near Punta del Este and the next morning move further along the coast. Only sometimes one can make plans, but life will make adjustments and the weather as well, and as movement depends on the use of technical equipment - sometimes some unexpected issues can happen to this technical equipment. And so it occurred this time as well.
Caravan ??
Punta del Este, and one of the symbols of the city – fingers protruding from the sand. Monumento al Ahogado, built in 1982. And as a habit lately, somebody is taking pictures with an iPad. Why use camera?
Punta del Este in the sunset.
The Bridge of Maldonaldo
Another unfinished bridge. Over the lagoon one could get in a ferry.
Less travelled roads
Before another downpour.
Some more pictures from The Salto Zoo.
